Wow how my new blog sucks:) So I posted one stinkin' thing in November and haven't posted anything since. I am really going to start utilizing this blog to show you some of the photos I have taken lately, I promise! So business is "ok", but I honestly haven't been trying very hard to drum up business. Also, with the economy the way it is people aren't willing to drop $50-$100 to have pictures taken. Now that I have the summer off I will start working more at it. I have 2 weddings booked already:) One is on Father's Day and one is August 1st. I have enlisted my good friend Annemarie to be my back up photographer for the wedding on August 1st since it will be bigger and the only person I know is the bride that I met a few months ago.
The wedding on Father's Day I am handling myself. It's the sister of a co-worker and the wedding is small. The bride is laid back and easy going and asked for the "standard" stuff. I love weddings so I think it will be fun to attend and capture the moments. Who knows, maybe weddings will be my nitche? I know it's where the money is and I would only have to work on Saturdays for the most part.
I have decided that while I like to do newborn shoots, they are challenging:) Not as challenging as taking pictures of a 2 year old though, nothing tops that. I really enjoy taking senior pictures, what's easier than taking photos of ONE GROWN adult. It's even ok if their momma comes along and tells them to smile:)
I have decided that I would much rather do an outdoor photo shoot than drag all my studio stuff and all my props to someone's house and set it all up. What a pain! I do enjoy some of the studio shots, but love natural light and landscaping. I also love bridges! Everyone should have their picture with a bridge:) Here are some examples...
